Scenarios

This is a collection of scenarios I've developed and played for Fleet Action Imminent.

Battlecruisers at Jutland - The opening of the action off Jutland, May 31, 1916, from the moment Hipper and Beatty cruise into range of each other.

Bombardment of Libau - As the Great War ground on into 1915, the German army swept into Russia and surrounded the Russian port fortress of Libau on the Baltic coast. They asked the navy to help reduce the artillery strongpoints with naval bombardment, so a German fleet of old battleships and heavy cruisers has arrived to pound them with big shells. In real history, the Russians declined to reinforce a loss, but in this scenario they have decided to contest the siege and sent some significant naval units to aid the defense.

Riga Break-In - In late summer of 1915, the German army entered Kurland (in Lithuania), and the German navy was tasked with clearing the Gulf of Riga of Russian naval forces in support of the army's planned attack on the city of Riga. The Germans brought a large fleet including dreadnoughts, battlecruisers, light cruisers, minesweepers, a minelayer, landing troops, and a horde of destroyers to force open the Irben Strait and clear out the gulf. In the event, they fought off the old battleship Slava and some old destroyers, pounded the battery on Oesel Island, and penetrated the minefields, but the few landings attempted went badly, and after SMS Moltke was torpedoed on August 19th the fleet retreated back to its bases. This scenario assumes the Tsar consents to allowing significant naval reinforcements to make the operation more costly for the Germans, opening the possibility of a big fight between heavy naval units which never happened. Note: the maps, setup and victory conditions are different for both sides; each side should see only its own briefing and map.
